Skai started her pursuit in the visual arts using water colours, mentoring with master painter, Ranjan Sen. She continued her studies at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in print-making, curitorial studies, photography, and interdisciplinary studies. She graduated in 1985 and has been exhibiting nationally and internationally ever since. She has been working in an abstract style with acrylic paints for 30 years.
“Painting abstract pieces provides me with a fresh way of seeing the physical world, a second sight into the energies that surround me. My intent is to convey an essence of a thing or a moment of the soul. When I paint, I search for directness and an intimacy of instinctual response, expressing a passion for the landscape of the subconscious.”
